STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE The house at 92 Little Myers Street, Geelong, has significance as a reasonably intact example of the Victorian Picturesque style. Built in 1883, the house appears to be in good condition when viewed from the street. The house at 92 Little Myers Street is architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates original design qualities of a Victorian Picturesque style. These qualities include the hipped roof form, together with the gable and bullnosed verandah that project towards the Little Myers Street frontage. Other intact or appropriate qualities include the asymmetrical composition, single storey height, horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, galvanised corrugated steel roof cladding, rendered brick chimneys, narrow eaves including the timber brackets at the front, timber framed double hung windows including the tripartite window at the front, timber verandah columns, cast iron verandah valances and brackets, decorative gable bargeboards, turned timber gable finial and the timber framed doorway with sidelights. The front timber picket fence also contributes to the significance of the place. The house at 92 Little Myers Street is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with residential developments in Geelong in the 1880s. In particular, this house has associations with John Caulfield, original owner from 1883. Overall, the house at 92 Little Myers Street is of LOCAL significance.
