Remnant native vegetation This Manna Gum (Eucalyptus viminalis)probably
predates European settlement, as very few large trees remain in nearby
the Wombat State Forest following clearing during the goldmining
period and timber harvesting. The tree is unusually tall for this
forest. Some similar large diameter trees grow along the roadside
between Daylesford and Glenlyon, but they are not as tall as this
specimen. Measurements: 15/05/2011 Access: Restricted
Outstanding size.
This area of farmland was probably cleared in the 1960s
and there are now regrowth trees on the site.
