STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE

This is a house in stylistic transition between the timber ornamented houses before World War 1 and the post World War Two bungalow style. It is a house of remarkable simplicity for 1913, having very little applied ornament and no timber fretwork. The roof pitch is low as befits a bungalow, and the house is simply and confidently composed of strong forms. The tapered chimneys are reminiscent of the work of the noted domestic architect Harold Desbroew-Annear. A noted contribution to early twentieth century architecture in Geelong. It is of regional significance.

Policy Recommendations: National Estate Register
