Statement of Significance as recorded under the Queenscliff Heritage Study 2009
Lisowen is of aesthetic significance to Queenscliffe. Despite the loss of its original colour scheme, the house is a significant example of timber 'Queen Anne' style architecture, including the scalloped spade-head picket fence across the front. The property is also of historical significance for its association with the prominent Baillieu family, who built and owned the house for many years, and subsequently leased it to at least two medical practitioners.
