These qualities include the steeply pitched hipped roof form, minor rear gable that projects at the side, form and location of the return verandah, asymmetrical composition, single storey height, horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, brick chimney with a corbelled top, narrow eaves, central timber framed doorway having an early four panelled timber door and sidelights and highlights, timber framed double hung windows, timber gable finial, and the decorative gable infill (panelling and battening).
