Tips on searching - National Trust Heritage Database
- Some records in the National Trust Heritage Database may be incomplete or may contain references to other organisations' citations. To check if a local heritage place/object is also a State registered place/object, search Victorian Heritage Database. Contact your local council or Planning Schemes Online if you require clarification on any information contained in the database.
- The National Trust Heritage Database is scheduled for daily maintenance at 03.00am EST - Eastern Standard Time. Recent additions to the database may not appear during this time.
- Simple search is a very powerful tool, so the more descriptive and specific, the better. For example, entering the word 'chinese' to find all sites historically associated with the Chinese, might also return a registered place that was once a Chinese restaurant.
- When the search returns "0" results, correct the spelling of the search term. Narrow your search and try again.
- Each 'search field' has help information. Move your cursor over the field name. When the cursor turns to a 'hand', click, and the help text will be displayed.
- Advanced search has an additional tool for you to add extra search criteria. Use the '+' button to choose additional advanced search criteria.
