The Historic Area contains a number of sites associated with the town and its quartz mining. Steiglitz is seen as a notable historic gold rush town.
How is it significant?

Intactness: retaining evidence of the key aspects of a cyanide works and a house site.

Condition: retained fabric in a condition that can be understood and interpreted
