What is significant?

The remains of a site that has been described by a local as a Eucy factory. Most of the remains of the factory have been demolished but there appears to be considerable significant foundation buried beneath the rubble and soil. The most prominent of the above-ground features are a collapsed iron chimney stack, and concrete floors and tanks.

How is it significant?

The site has significance because of its:
 
Intactness: retained evidence of a Eucy factory which appears to be a unique historic site in respect to the Eucy industry.
 
Integrity: a compact arrangement of relics which demonstrates the basic outlay of a site described as an Eucy factory
 
Condition: retained fabric in a condition that can be understood and interpreted. Given the lack of historic information, the buried archaeological information becomes more important in understanding this site.
 

Why is it significant?

The site is associated with a time period when the importance of gold mining was declining and locals moved into other industries to survive. It also appears to be a unique type of site in respect to the Eucy industry.
