The surviving evidence of a Eucy distillery including (a rare survivor), vats and ruins of a boiler setting. The re-use of an existing dam is another feature typical for this type of site.
How is it significant?
The site is significance because of it has:
Intactness: retained evidence of many of the key aspects of a Eucy distillery crane, vat and boiler setting.
Integrity: a compact arrangement of relics which demonstrates the basic outlay of a Eucy distillery
Condition: retained fabric in a condition that can be understood and interpreted
Given the lack of historic information, the buried archaeological information becomes more important in understanding the site.
Why is it significant?
The site is associated with a time period when the importance of gold mining was declining and locals moved into other industries to survive.
