What is significant?
The site contains evidence of two shafts which share the same mining history, There is evidence of two mullock heaps and associated mining machinery rubble. Certainly enough above-ground evidence to suggest buried archaeological material.
How is it significant?
The site is associated with Victoria's mid to late 19th century gold mining history.
Why is it significant?
Using the three standard metrics for assessing heritage significance, the site would have significance at the Local level due to:
Intactness: Enough evidence survives to be able to interpret the site.
Integrity: Above ground poor but possibility of buried remains
Condition: Surviving fabric has not been disturbed
