"Wightman's Centenery Buildings" at 40 Bair Street, Leongatha is of local historic and aesthetic interest to the town of Leongatha.
Historically, it is one of a group of buildings that demonstrate the important commercial development of that occurred in Leongatha during the interwar years. It is also important as one of the first arcade-style commercial developments in Leongatha and the Shire.
Aesthetically, it is a good and substantially intact example of an interwar shop that retains its original parapet, shopfront, awning and interiors and contributes to the streetscape of Bair Street.
