Statement of Significance

The Mirka Mora Mural at the Flinders Street Station, Melbourne, is significant as the sole remaining example of this artist's work in a public place (not privately owned). Commissioned in the early 1980's, it is an example of the renewed interest being shown at that time in public art. It is a well-conceived and carefully executed example of the artist's work and certainly deserves to be protected and maintained.
