An outstanding tree which has attained a remarkable height. The tree has avery straight trunk and a well-balanced crown. It is among the many fine specimens of trees notable for their height growing in the garden at 'Alton' This planting presumably dates from the late 1870s.
The tree is located in the South-West section of the garden near the Weeping Beech
