Statement of Significance
What is significant?
Horticultural value Rare or localised
This tree is an unusual form of the species Ulmus parvifolia. It retains its bark and does not show the normal characteristics of Chinese Elm which often have attractive peeling bark and a slightly pendulous habit. It is also unlike the Chinese Elm that originated as seedlings from Yarralumba Nursery in Canberra which also retain their bark. This tree is completely deciduous
