Curious growth form This specimen tree has an unusual growth due to a severe lightning strike which occurred on 2 February 1918. Measurements: 01/2010
As the name suggests, this is a native to the Canary Islands making it highly suited to south-east Australia. It has a distinguishable and strongly fissured red bark, which provides a distinct visual contrast to its dark deep-green and soft textured foliage.
The historic home, "Billilla", was built between 1876-1878 and is classified by the National Trust.
