This is an unusual tree in cultivation in Victoria. A native of Southern Africa where it is one of their tallest trees, Afrocarpus falcatus occurs in mountain forest. Other plantings of the species are known in the Royal Botanic Gardens, Creswick, Port Melbourne and Peel Street, Prahran as street planting.
