These Pinus taedaare the only known examples in cultivation in Victoria(1984), and are part of the oringinal planting which dates from 1875.
Pinus taeda is a native of southern and eastern parts of the U.S.A. (south New Jersey to south Arkansas and east Texas to south-west Tennesssee). This species is a major timber tree in eastern USA.
