Curious growth form

This Angophora costata is a fine, medium-sized example of this common woodland and forest tree of Eastern Australia. This tree has a particularly attractive growth form. with unusual features including its heavily striated trunk and branches. The lower branches display a spectacular weeping habit, many of which touch the ground.
The tree was planted by Walter Zumstein, probably in the late 1920s or early 1930s, on a crown lease he held in the area.
