Outstanding example of species
Growing in bushland, this is a fine specimen of Two Winged Gimlet. Eucalyptus diptera is a member of the Myrtaceae family and is endemic to a small area north of Esperance. The species is notable for its smooth coppery-brown bark and is only occasionally cultivated in Victoria, chiefly in the drier north-west townships. This tree is the finest example of the species known in cultivation.
