This tree is the northern specimen of two located within a row of elms on a north-south axis. This tree dominates the surrounding vegetation and makes a valuable contribution to the largely coniferous landscape of this public park. The only other known specimens of Pinus jeffreyi occur at Creswick and the Royal Botanical Gardens. The tree displays the species characteristic untidy appearance.The Jeffrey Pine is native to the mountains of the US in the far west from southern Oregon to Mexico and eastward to western Nevada and can live to 500 years
