Statement of Significance

Location or Context:
A tree which occurs in a unique location or context and so provides a contribution to the landscape.

Rare or Localised:
A tree of a species or variety that is rare or of very localised distribution.

This tree is the only known example of the species in Victoria and is thought to have been planted by Prahran Council when they acquired Como Park in 1921. The treeleans to the north due to overshadowing by the canopy of an Ash tree to the south. The tree also has a major limb extending northwards, its union to the branch structure being poor.
