Outstanding size
'Bilston's Tree' is reputed to be the largest known River Red Gum (E. camaldulensis). If solid, the tree contains enough wood for 300 railway sleepers. In 1961, the Forests Commission purchased a 1 acre reserve containing this tree from Mr T Bilston following recommendations from local citizens to protect it from being felled.
The tree is located 6km west along Glenmia Rd from Casterton-Edenhope Rd - 200m south of road.
