Statement of Significance

Croajingalong is of national significance due to the diversity of coastal and hinterland landforms, vegetation associations and faunal species which are of outstanding conservation value. Essentially pristine coastal streams, lakes, estuaries and inlets are of State significance. Spectacular and diverse coastal landscapes are of particularly high quality and further enhance the significance of the region. The area is of high biogeographical significance as it contains rrepresentatives and overlaps of the three elements of south-east Australia's vegetation associations.
