Statement of Significance

This lake, which provides habitat for many water-fowl, is an attractive area for sight-seeing and picnicking. It is surrounded by forested slopes containing Peppermint (E. radiata) and Brittle Gum (E. mannifera) and the precipitous Mount Buffalo is clearly visible to the east.

LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES:

Sited on the Buffalo River, adjacent to Mount Buffalo National Park. This landscape adjoins the Classified Mount Buffalo, and extends to the surrounding mountain ridge tops and dam wall.
