Statement of Significance

Lake Anderson is a man-made lake in the township of Chiltern, an historic gold town in North East Victoria. The lake and gardens form a mature landscape of exotic trees and shrubs.

It is an important cultural feature and its period character greatly complements this historic town.

The lake remains a feature of scenic and historic significance. The Classified house, 'Lake View' (former dwelling of Henry Handel Richardson), is well sited on the shore to the south of the lake.
