Statement of Significance

The Little Yarra Valley is considered to be of regional significance as it is:

- an attractive rural landscape generally unmarred by unsympathetic development

- one of the main focuses of the important timber industry which has had a significant role in the development of the Upper Yarra Region

- an important educational and recreational area due to its visual, historical and scientific associations.

LOCATION AND BOUNDARIES:

The Little Yarra Valley is located south east of Yarra Junction. The ridge lines on either side of the Valley form the north-eastern, south-western and eastern boundaries.
