Statement of Significance

The Golf Links Estate, built almost entirely in the period 1927-1940 exhibits, to a degree, exceptional in Victoria, the mainstream brick villa styles of this period. Its streets and street furniture, public gardens and parks are particularly evocative of the Inter-War era. The well preserved housing and streetscapes constitute an outstanding portrayal of the middle-class suburban ideal with which this period is closely associated, and which is an important theme in Australia's cultural history.
