Statement of Significance

The area is a relatively rare intact remnant of a vegetated coastal sand dune system on the Port Phillip Bay coast. The visual values, stemming primarily from the naturalness of the area, and which contrast markedly with most other coastal areas of the Bay, are also significant. It is a landscape of regional significance.

LOCATION / BOUNDARIES AND OWNERSHIP:

City of Frankston.

Coastal Crown land, approximately 5.5km long and 100 m wide, within the City of Frankston, between Keast Park and Mile Bridge, inland of low water mark and seaward of the Nepean Highway.
Managed by a Committee of Management under the Crown Lands (Reserves) Act.
Administered by the Ministry for Conservation, Forests and Lands.
