Statement of Significance

The Wodonga Butter Factory is a typical medium sized dairy industry building which displayed all the features of a 1920's dairy industry building, dairy ridge line roof, solid brick construction, intact cheese room and associated out buildings of various ages. The building complex is a strong visual reminder of the importance of dairying along the rich Murray River flats and its association with Holdenson and Nielson, as well as its links with other regional dairy industries through the movement of takeovers, gives it a prominent local identity.
