Statement of Significance

An attractive timber church in the picturesque manner, displaying quaint sub-literate Gothic detailing such as drip moulds on the internal walls; a mixture of flat, segmental, round and pointed arches; a miniature splayed apse and a quasi-Italianate tower. Arts and Crafts influence can be seen in the openwork strapping of the gables and contrasting timbers of the handsome boarded interior. The church was reputedly designed by builder Andrew Sanger and erected in 1892; the transepts were added in 1911 and the vestry in 1918.
