Statement of Significance

St Fillan is a grazing property and a house whose garden contained 9 classified trees. The original owner was the Victorian Premier Sir James Munro, who bought it in 1880 and created the garden.The original house was an ornate wooden house, which was a guest house from 1898 to 1932. In 1937 a Georgian-style weatherboard replaced the old house.
