Statement of Significance

A single storey squared basalt homestead, "Worroit" was erected in 1870 for Robert Whithead, son of pioneer pastoralist, Robert Whitehead, on part of the run "Spring Creek" taken up by Whitehead senior in 1841.
The residence is simplified Italianate design of unknown orign, constructed without ornamentation and enhanced by a plain timber verandah with open frieze and double columns.
