Statement of Significance

The Kyneton State Bank, built in 1883-84, is architecturally significant at Regional level. It was designed by the Ballarat firm Caselli and Figgis and has an unusual facade built in a classical design. The ground floor windows are very large and are decorated with a Roman Doric colonnade. The first floor windows are decorated with an unusual aedicule.
