Constructed to their own design in 1902 by Milson and Sons of North Fitzroy, with a foundation stone laid by the Governor of Victoria, this large memorial fountain of three tiers is a prominently situated Daylesford landmark.
Designed somewhat after the pattern of the Melbourne Exhibition Buildings fountain, the Daylesford fountain is constructed of rubble and concrete materials which has led to its present state of advanced deterioration.
Classified: 1959
File Note: Due to its deterioration, in 1991 the Shire of Daylesford and Glenlyon decided (with National Trust approval) to cast a replica of the fountain.
