Church Statement of Significance:
One of Victoria's oldest churches, built 1843 - 1847, to the design of the eminent Sydney architect E T Blacket, supervised by John Gill, and an unusual example of the Perpendicular Gothic style. Additions were made in 1855 by Snell, Kawerau and Prowse, and by others at later dates.

Public Art Statement of Significance:
This is one of a group of three works of stained glass which represent the most striking works of Victoria's nineteenth century firm of glass workers, Ferguson & Urie, and is significant at State level. A major work documenting the early development of the art of stained glass in Australia. One of a group of highly distinctive windows dating to the 1860s-1870s which are of immeasurable historic importance. Classified: 15/071992.
