Statement of Significance

A pioneering Mallee homestead of horizontal pine logs set in sawn and adzed framing, of an unusually regular plan of four square rooms with a hall of almost equal breadth passing between them and with the side of each square bay divided into three panels with a door or window commonly at the centre. Around the homestead are the remains of gardens and pens, an underground tank, a later pumphouse still containing a wooden pulley and windlass, a shearing and general purpose shed also of horizontal log construction, with catching and holding pens assembed in a most craftsmanlike way largely from undressed saplings.
