'Glenmona' was established by pastoralists Hall and McNeil in 1839. Date of homestead building presumed to be before 1853. Stone single-storey homestead of random rubble stone with squared coursed stone for the principal facade. Two wings symmetrically disposed and projecting bow end walls. The first gold discovered in Victoria was located by Thomas Chapman on the McNeil and Hall sheep run 'Glenmorna' in 1848.
