Statement of Significance

File note 06/08/2012:
The Buninyong Brewery was built in1855 by a Mr Allen and from 1857 was operated by Thomas Sheppard, first chairman of the Buninyong Borough Council in 1859. It traded as Sheppard's Crystal Malt Brewery until Sheppard's death in 1873 when the Brewery closed. The building is now in private ownership. (Buninyong & District Historical Society)
