Statement of Significance

An historic homestead, the construction of which is well documented but now greatly altered. Construction consisted of heavy, roughy squared local basalt blocks mortared together. The original house is believed to date from 1855-1857. The schoolhouse on the property also dates from this period.

The woolshed

Particularly fine bluestone construction.

The Overseers Cottage

Another good example of bluestone construction, although not as fine as the woolshed.
