Statement of Significance

A church conceived as an interesting asymmetrical composition of nave and north aisle, but never completed in that form and with an inappropriate entrance and canopy inserted in recent years. It was built as a Mission church in 1874-5 to the design of Leonard Terry, but enlarged and re-opened as a Parish church in 1879.
