Two houses in the Old Colonists Homes Community, off Rushall Crescent, Fitzroy North. Built in 1870, these are the oldest buildings in this 9-acre settlement with its 125 cottages for older people. The scheme was founded by George Coppin and these two were his donation. Honorary Architect was George Johnson.

Area Classification Statement of Significance
This area is a unique complex of national significance and is of great architectural importance. The area consists of several brick and stone cottages erected from 1870 until recent times. Each cottage has been privately donated and is marked by a memorial stone. George Coppin who founded the earliest stone cottages and these were designed by G Johnson. The Complex is unified by its neat garden and picturesque architecture all on a domestic scale.
