Single storey house built probably in the 1850's by Samuel Ramsden, a partner in the large contracting firm of Brown and Ramsden. There have been various alterations and additions including the verandah. Samuel Ramsden was a contractor, quarry owner, flour mill owner and also the owner of Melbourne's first paper mill, the forerunner of A.P.M.
