Ranmoor, designed and built by Beaver & Purnell and built c. 1916 is of State architectural significance as a distinctive, early and largely externally original villa demonstrating the influence of the Prairie School in Victoria. Ranmoor precedes the advent of Walter Burley Griffin's domestic practice in Australia which is usually seen as the major source of Prairie School influence in Melbourne.
