As Victoria's first fully vertical silk and rayon knitter, Prestige dominated the better-end hoisery market for forty years, consistently outperforming imported brands. The company was notable for its role as a training ground for a number of prominent businessmen, many of whom founded their own enterprises in later years, and for its role as a model employer offering a wide range of welfare activities to local employees.
