Statement of Significance

Built in 1886, the four-storey rendered brick office building has a simply detailed facade with large windows and an elaborate cornice at roof level. The main entrance doors and the internal partitions have been considerably altered. The facade is similar in design, texture and scale to the adjacent Lombard Building and together they form part of an attractive street-scape. The entrances to the basement area and the railings are noteworthy. The classification applies only to the main facade and the basement area railings.
