A notable collection of buildings which still display their original use as a livery stables, one of the few buildings of this type remaining in Melbourne. The recent association of the buildings with the Australian Performing Group, one of Australia's most important theatre companies is also notable. The buildings are a landmark of Carlton and an important feature of the central Carlton area.
