Statement of Significance

This robust red brick pair of houses was built in 1895 by the See Yup society and used for chinese housing. This pair is a rare surviving example of housing in the city area. They are an important remnant of the many chinese residences once found in this sector of the city and are essential to the character of Chinatown.
