Statement of Significance

Small slate-roofed brick cottage c. 1851, with iron-roofed weatherboard front section of slightly later date with delicate cast-iron verandah valance and ornamental timber bargeboards; more recent timber additions at rear obscure the earliest section.
The first occupant was the Government Botanist, F von Mueller when first appointed Director of Botanic Gardens.
