ELTHAM STUDY STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE:

The largest tree of this group is of particularly significant size and age, while the smaller trees are probably seedlings from the oldest tree. Together they form a group of high landscape value.

REVISED STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: {with AHC criteria)

These English oaks (5 + 5) are significant to Nillumbik Shire:

- as uncommon for their maturity and type within the Shire (Criterion B2);

- for their association with local carrier Taylor, the link with the former Dendy flour mill site, as markers, and expression of former farming pursuits in the area (Criterion A4, H1);

- for their high landscape value (Criterion E1).
