Why is it significant?
Historically, this house is significant for its associations as the home of Harold Keys, Shire of Berwick Engineer from 1904-1948 and member of an important Victorian family of land owners, graziers and horse breeders. (AHC criteria A4, D2 and H1)

Aesthetically, this house is significant as a fine example of a 1930s inter-war English Cottage style. It is stylistically comparable to the Berwick properties of Sir Sidney Sewell, Roads End and the group of shops at 71-75 High Street. (AHC criteria E1)
